On Track with Obstacles
Jul 26th, 2007 by Bob Burch
These are two color studies I recently did for Sean, the art director, at Retail Traffic Magazine. Sean was easy to work with and the concepts for both articles were a lot of fun.He and the editor wanted the figure holding the tracks so that it looked like he was trying to put them together. I liked this idea because it reinforced the concept of the article. I couldn’t decide which way to have the figure facing but in the end went with him facing right. I also found a great piece of paper in our recycle bin. It was a blown up photocopy of something, who knows what? But it made for a really nice background pattern. Click here to see the final. I’ll put up the hurdle final up the next time I get a chance.
