The Real Deal, in My House

The Five Colleges Center For East Asian Studies have three different collections of actual Japanese prints Available to sign out! It seems wrong to have them in my house and be to flip through them. So far we (my wife and I) have only checked out the Theater and Hokusai Prints but we’ll be checking them all out over time. I’ve been spending a lot of time drawing from them. Picking out patterns and looking at compositions. These things are amazing. I took a bunch of pictures; here are a couple of them.
Common themes are shown over and over again in these prints. Figures are always wrapping around each other. I like how the image below the figure behind is barley visible.
